A love for modernity, the unadorned shape, and artful attention to detail turn each piece of Köchert jewelry into a work of art. The master goldsmiths’ extensive knowledge and expertise and their passion for precious gems guarantee the highest quality.

FOR EMPERORS AND CUSTOMERS WHO ARE KING

Köchert jewelry was founded in 1814, and already in 1831, the business gained the title of “K.u.K. Hoflieferant”, official purveyor to the Imperial Court, with the founder Alexander Emanuel Köchert being appointed court jeweler in 1868.

As the emperor`s personal jeweler, he was also keeper of the royal treasury. It has been the Köchert tradition since then to host renowned artists at the Neuer Markt location’s studio, who, in cooperation with the in-house master goldsmiths, have createdprecious and unique pieces of jewelry – a tradition that to this day, Christoph, Wolfgang and Florian Köchert continue to celebrate. Today more than ever, A. E. Köchert is synonymous with masterful craftsmanship, precious materials, and unique designs that merge classic and modern styles to form inimitable and peerless pieces of jewelry.

Sissis Stars – the stars of Empress Elisabeth count as some of Austria’s most famous pieces of jewelry. “Sissi” used them to decorate her long and gorgeous hair. The majority of those sparkling precious jewels were designed and manufactured for Sissi by the imperial jeweler to the court, Alexander Emanuel Köchert. As an homage to a remarkable woman, the “Stars of Empress Elisabeth” have now been reissued.

FINE THINGS FOR FINE PEOPLE

One of the company’s well-kept secrets is the special knotting technique that lends an extraordinary and intricate elegance to the “Coccinella”-style necklaces and earrings by joining gem orbs of exactly the same size to create a fascinating piece of art.

The main branch of A. E. Köchert jewelry has been at Neuer Markt 15 since 1873, and in December of 2005, a further store was opened at the exclusive Alter Markt 15 in Salzburg.

Freywille has been creating unique, artistically designed jewelry from
fire enamel since 1951, setting new benchmarks when it comes to artistic
creativity, enameling procedures and globalization.

UNMISTAKABLE FIRE

Creativity is the driving force behind Freywille, constantly yielding new, artistically valuable collections that become instant classics. Many of the iconic collections are conceived as tributes to famous artists such as Gustav Klimt, Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Claude Monet, providing a unique interpretation of them. Other collections are inspired by concepts of humanism and philosophy. The jewelry created in this way spreads the message of joie de vivre and intangible values throughout the world.

The central element of all Freywille jewelry is a little plate of fire enamel, a material that captivates with its unmistakable radiance and is applied in multiple layers at our very own factory in Vienna. The unique Freywille fire enamel technique and specially created color compositions give an intense glow to the colors used, bestowing an unparalleled, everlasting appeal. The finishing refinement with 24-carat powder gold in enamel gives the pieces their luxurious aura and highlights the artistic value of the creations.

100 STEPS TO PERFECTION

Fire enamel is a unique material in terms of both look and feel. It is transformed into timelessly elegant jewelry using a manufacturing procedure developed by Freywille. Between 80 and 100 manual work steps are necessary to produce the intensely colored fire enamel plates, which are then inserted into their settings. All Freywille jewelry is meticulously and lovingly produced by hand in Vienna by masters of their craft, who closely guard the secret of the Freywille fire enamel that has been developed over decades. Skilled craftsmanship, great care and strict quality controls characterize the production process of these unique pieces of jewelry, shaping them into lifelong companions.

In his multifaceted jewelery collection, Alexander Skrein shapes precious metals and extraordinary stones into excitingly valuable works of art made from fair gold.

JEWELERY AS UNIQUE AS ITS WEARER

Since 1997, Alexander Skrein’s jewelery workshop has seen the creation of little treasures that do not follow trends and that communicate both individuality and personality. The unmistakability of every piece makes them timelessly beautiful – clean lines, precious materials, a surprising mix of materials and extravagant shapes give every “opus” that comes out of the Skrein workshop an aura of immortality. The significance of our jewelery lies in its uniqueness.

Our profession is closely linked to the values of humanity and respect, as jewellery means communication. That is why we see it as our role to give an item of jewelery a statement that underlines the wearer’s personality. Forces of nature that amaze us time and again with their unexpected beauty and power. Attractive and magical, and yet not under our control.

HOLDING BEAUTY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

In its latest works, the Skrein* jewellery workshop succeeds in bringing these natural forces together in real decorative pieces made from fair gold.

Precious stones that make colors come alive like no other material can – Herbert Schullin has always been fascinated by the magic they exude. Years of experience have sharpened the senses of this gemstone aficionado and have given him the expertise to clearly distinguish and evaluate the delicate nuances of the crystal color spectrum. Working with beautiful and rare stones is rewarding as well as a considerable responsibility for Herbert Schullin. The challenge presented by turning an exceptional stone into an individually crafted piece of jewelry makes his an exciting and unique vocation.

A HEART OF STONE – GEMSTONE

Even white diamonds can sometimes exhibit wonderful color nuances – intense yellows, delicate pinks and blues. These stones are extremely rare and valuable which is why they require particularly careful planning. Bespoke as well as distinguished design is Schullin’s core competence.

Consistent communication and frequent meetings with their clients produce very individual shapes perfectly matched and tailored to the customer’s ideas and desires, from the first handdrawn sketch during the initial meeting to 3D concepts and wax models, finalizing the design process and presenting the client with a detailed preview of the finished piece.

A combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology is meticulously applied to every single piece – no detail is left to chance. Three Austrian National Prizes as well as a Diamond International Award underline the creativity and skilled craftsmanship at Schullin.

In the 1980s, architect Hans Hollein designed the jewelry store on Kohlmarkt 7, which was his second collaboration with Schullin.

IN SEARCH OF PERFECTION

It has since been considered a landmark building in the global architectural scene and was featured by the international media several times. Jewelry pieces by Schullin displayed against the backdrop of Hollein’s edifice create a unique symbiosis.
